Vincinnati Art Exploration Raising Funds for Centerpoint Health

The photography of Vince Geier and other local artists auctioned off to support suicide prevention.

Cincinnati, November 5^th, 2011:  Centerpoint Health and the Foundation for Suicide Prevention team up with friends and family of Vince Geier to raise funds. Photography of Vince and other local artists will be displayed and auctioned at The Mockee, at 2260 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, OH. This is an 18+ event and admission is $10.  Doors open at 7pm and from 7-9pm there will be a silent auction for all of the artwork displayed and raffle ticket will be on sale. There will be music throughout the event as well as a cash bar. The raffle giveaways and silent auction winners will be announced from 9-10pm and DJ sets  start at 10pm.

All funds raised will be donated to Centerpoint Health. Centerpoint Health has a 40-year history in the community and according to the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, has helped more residents improve than any other mental health agency in Hamilton County in 2009 and 2010. The majority of people who seek the mental health services of Centerpoint Health have few, or in most cases, no other options for care.  These services mean the difference between life and death for someone desperately seeking counseling through the suicide prevention hotline.  For those in need, Centerpoint Health is the place to turn to for help.

Vince Geier was an extremely creative and adventurous person that had a passion for urban exploration and photography. On June 30^th, 2011, Vincent took his own life after a long struggle with depression. Friends and family of Vince would like to invite all to celebrate his life adventures on November 5^th at The Mockbee.

As we take a look through his lens to raise funds for suicide prevention, we hope to help provide a light in the darkness for anyone that is feeling lost. There are an estimated 8-25 attempted suicides for every suicide death and organizations such as Centerpoint Health can make a difference to someone in need.
